AIR SOUTH
(November 1984- July 1987) Florida
This Air South (no relation to the other airlines by the same name) began scheduled flights as Bahama Caribbean between Miami and Ft. Lauderdale to Bimini in 1980. In 1981 the name was changed to Bahamas Caribbean and in 1982 the airline became Aero International.
The name was changed yet again in late 1984 to Air South and a trio of three-engine Britten Norman Tri-Islanders were added to the fleet. Below: Britten Norman Tri-Islander N905GD pictured at Marathon, Florida.

Air South timetable from February 9, 1987. Thanks to Björn Larsson for this image! The logo with the Tri-Islander in the tropical sunset is really cool.
Air South route map from February 9, 1987. Routes to Tampa, Orlando and Cape Kennedy were only proposed and not actually flown at that time. Thanks again to Björn Larsson for this image.
The July 6, 1987 edition of the Miami Herald announced that Air South had filed for bankruptcy.
