ATLANTA AIRPORT SCENES FROM THE 1960s

A United Airlines Caravelle pictured at Atlanta in 1963 with a Vickers Viscount taxiing out to the runway in the background. A Delta DC-7 is parked at the end of concourse E. United became a predominant airline at Atlanta in 1961 when they merged with Capital Airlines.

A Delta Convair 440 at the gate in 1968. Delta's retired its last 440 on April 25, 1970 at which point it became an all jet airline.
