ATLANTIS AIRLINES
Atlantis claimed to be the first airline formed after the passage of deregulation in 1978. The airline served the Carolinas, Georgia, and Tennessee. Atlantis purchased Air Carolina in 1980 and later became part of the Eastern Express system, flying until 1989.

This timetable from 1980 features a nice shot of a De Havilland Twin Otter. Atlantis also operated Swearingen Metroliners and BAe Jetstreams during the 1980s.
Swearingen Metroliners joined the Atlantis fleet in 1981. N1013G is pictured in Atlanta.

Atlantis began flying as Eastern Atlantis Express on April 1, 1985 with aircraft repainted in Eastern colors. Jetstream N156AA is shown at Atlanta.
