WINGS AIR
Lawrenceville, GA based
Wings Air began scheduled passenger flights in
2008 using
9-passenger Piper Navajo Chieftains between Atlanta and the Georgia cities of Macon and
Athens, two routes also served by Georgia
Skies.

The company sought federal subsidy to replace Atlantic Southeast Airlines at Macon and US Airways Express at Athens but lost the battle to Georgia Skies on both routes. Unable to meet costs without subsidy, Wings Air terminated service to both cities in early 2009. During Spring 2009, the airline offered flights between Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson and Lawrenceville, Georgia as well as service between Ft. Lauderdale and the Bahamas and charter flights.
By November 2009, Wings Air had discontinued all flights.
